The first edition of The Cutting Edge released in 2006 in Dutch and in English was a great success and has now become an internationally acclaimed standard text book for the beginning surgeon and student.

Five years on we continue committed to increase its impact worldwide and welcome you to The Cutting Edge's new multimedia website. This exciting and innovative means to help every veterinary surgeon with internet access around the world improve their surgical skills and scientific knowledge with the tools the site places at the hands of the user. In addition to the comprehensive text, the site will contain high quality photographic images and video files as well as a unique system of updates that ensures the latest cutting edge information is available at the click of the mouse.

At present, once the user has logged in, there is instant free access to every single one of the book's chapters, all of which will be updated over the next six months. Over a short period of time educational videos will be added and further changes will be made to make the site even more user friendly.

As editors, we decided to open up this website for everyone to use because we fully and actively support open access information, an idea we have been able to materialize with the help of our educational sponsors.

However, if you are a book lover you have no need to worry as an updated version of the hard copy of The Cutting Edge will also be made available for a reasonable price.
